One of the BEST parts about staying at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort is swimming in the pools!
Whenever we visit Disney World, we ALWAYS make sure we have at least one pool day. Instead of visiting the theme parks, our family plays and relaxes by the pool.
All-Star Music has TWO incredible pools you can enjoy.
Below, you will learn about both of these musically themed pools, along with the dining options and other fun activities to enjoy around the pools.
Lastly, make sure you make it to the end of this post to learn how you can enjoy an ADDITIONAL FOUR POOLS when you stay at All-Star Music. 🙂
The 2 Pools at All-Star Music:
Pool #1: The Calypso Pool
At over 250,000 gallons, the Calypso Pool is considered the feature pool at All-Star Music! Because of its LARGE size and central location, it is the resort’s busiest and most popular pool.
The Calypso Pool is inspired by the classic Disney movie The Three Caballeros. In the center of the pool, you will find life-sized statues of the main characters, Donald Duck, José Carioca, and Panchito. These colorful statues are actually fountains that shoot water in all directions, which is a really fun feature for anyone swimming!
If you were to look at the pool from above, you would see it is shaped like a GIANT guitar. There are even six lines painted down the center of the pool to resemble the guitar strings.
When you get to All-Star Music, the pool is easy to find! If you walk out the back of Melody Hall, where the main lobby and Intermission Food Court are found, you will run into the Calypso Pool. If you want your room near this pool, make sure to request to stay in the Calypso section of the resort.
Surrounding the pool are lots of lounge chairs for relaxation. Behind the lounge chairs are tables with umbrellas that offer places to eat while being in the shade. Just be advised that on HOT days, the chairs and tables can get claimed quickly, so you may want to head to the pool early if this is important to you.
For decorations, you will love seeing the GIANT maracas that surround the pool. And if you look closely at the buildings, musical notes line the railings.
If you get hungry or thirsty at the Calypso Pool, there is an outside pool bar called Singing Spirits.
It’s easy to find as it’s located next to the pool and connected to Melody Hall. This is the ONLY bar you will find at All-Star Music.
- Here you can find an array of beverages and adult alcoholic drinks to enjoy while sitting at the pool.
- They also offer a limited food menu, such as pretzels, chips, salads, and sandwiches.
The main food area, the Intermission Food Court, is also close to the Calypso Pool. It can be found just inside Melody Hall. So if you dry off and put on shoes and a shirt, you can head here to find many more dining options. But if you’re at the pool, it would be easiest to mobile order from outside, then run inside to grab your food when it’s ready.
If you have little kids, you will be happy to learn there is a small kiddie pool at the back of the Calypso Pool. In fact, the kiddie pool serves as the “headstock” of the guitar-shaped pool! This small pool is safe for all ages and has a maximum depth of only 12 inches (30 cm).
Since the Calypso Pool is the biggest pool at All-Star Music and is centrally located, it is the busiest at the resort.
If you want a less crowded pool with a more relaxed atmosphere, keep reading to learn more about the other pool at All-Star Music! 🙂
Pool #2: The Piano Pool
The other pool at All-Star Music is the Piano Pool. At 106,036 gallons, it is much smaller than the Calypso Pool. It’s located towards the back of the resort and is conveniently situated between the Rock, Country, Jazz, and Broadway buildings. Because of its size and location, the Piano Pool is considered the quieter and more relaxed pool at All-Star Music.
As the name suggests, the pool and surrounding area are themed after the piano! In fact, if you were to look from above, the entire pool is shaped like a grand piano.
One side of the pool even has black and white tiles laid on the ground, which of course, are supposed to be piano keys!
Walking around the pool deck, you will also notice musical notes stamped into the concrete.
Surrounding the pool deck, you will find lounge chairs and tables. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Because of its smaller size and lack of dining, the Piano Pool is typically quieter and less crowded than the Calypso Pool. But on hot days, you can still expect to find a crowd here. There are plenty of lounge chairs and shaded areas for you to sit and relax, but these will get claimed quickly on busy days.

I am a lap swimmer and use the guitar string tiles of Calypso pool as my lane markers. Can you tell me how many yards from each end to 3 Cabelleros?
Hello Mary. First, I can’t imagine a better place to swim laps. 🙂 But unfortunately, I don’t have an answer to your question. I’m not sure how long the Calypso Pool is, nor could I find any information about this topic. Thanks for the question.
