One of the BEST parts about staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort is swimming in the pools!
Whenever we visit Disney World, we ALWAYS make sure we have at least one pool day. Instead of visiting the theme parks, our family plays and relaxes by the pool.
Pop Century has THREE incredible pools you can enjoy.
Below, you will learn all about these uniquely themed pools, along with the dining options and other fun activities to enjoy around them.
Lastly, make sure you make it to the end of this post to see our list of Frequently Asked Questions!
The 3 Pools at Pop Century:
Pool #1: The Hippy Dippy Pool
The Hippy Dippy Pool is the LARGEST pool at Pop Century at 235,000 gallons! Because of its size and central location in the resort, it is the busiest and most popular of the three pools.
The pool is located in the 1960s section of Pop Century and is themed after this decade. On the sides of the buildings, you will see flower decorations everywhere, along with lots of giant people dancing. And if you were to look at the pool from above, you would see it is shaped like a giant flower! Check it out below:
The Hippy Dippy Pool is EASY to find! It is right behind Classic Hall, the resort’s main lobby, and by the 1960s buildings.
Along the edges of the swim area, you will find FOUR oversized giant flower showers that spray water into the pool. I’m sure you kids will love the fun feature.
Surrounding the pool are lots of lounge chairs for relaxation. Among the lounge chairs are tables with umbrellas that offer places to eat while being in the shade. Just be advised that on HOT days, the chairs and tables can get claimed quickly, so you may want to head to the pool early if you want one.
If you get hungry or thirsty at the Hippy Dippy Pool, there is an outside pool bar called Petals. It’s easy to find as it’s located next to the pool and is the ONLY bar at Pop Century.
- Here you can find an array of beverages, including adult alcoholic drinks, to enjoy while sitting at the pool.
- They also offer a limited food menu, such as pretzels, chips, salads, and sandwiches.
The main food area, Everything Pop Food Court, is also close to the Hippy Dippy Pool. It can be found just inside Classic Hall. So if you dry off and put on shoes and a shirt, you can head here to find many more dining options. But if you’re at the pool, it would be easiest to mobile order from outside, then run inside to grab your food when it’s ready.
If you have little kids, you will be happy to learn there is a small kiddie pool behind the Hippy Dippy Pool inside a separate fenced-in area!
The kiddie pool is fairly small and basic, but at least it allows very young children a place to have fun and get wet. They should have a good time splashing around in the small fountains! In addition, there is ample seating for adults surrounding the water.
Since the Hippy Dippy Pool is the biggest pool at Pop Century and is centrally located, it is definitely the busiest at the resort.
If you want a less crowded pool with a more relaxed atmosphere, keep reading to learn more about the other two pools at Pop Century! ๐
Pool #2: The Computer Pool
You will find the smaller Computer Pool at the far south end of Pop Century between the 1980s and 1990s buildings. As such, the pool and entire area are themed after these time periods.
As the pool’s name suggests, it is uniquely shaped and resembles a computer monitor. If you could view the pool from above, you would see a large square! In addition, you will find a life-sized spongy keyboard in front of the Computer Pool.
Regarding decorations, you will see a GIANT laptop sitting behind the pool area. Also, some of the buildings nearby look like stacks of floppy disks. I’m partial to the huge statue of Roger Rabbit! ๐
As you get near the pool, you will notice that there is a GIANT keyboard on the pool deck.
Surrounding the pool are lounge chairs and tables, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Computer Pool is smaller than the Hippy Dippy Pool. As a result, it is usually quieter and less crowded, especially since it’s also located at the far south end of Pop Century Resort. But on hot Florida days, this pool can still get pretty busy.
Pool #3: The Bowling Pool
You will find the Bowling Pool at the far north end of Pop Century Resort by the 1950s buildings.
As you probably guessed by the name, the pool and the entire area are themed after bowling! For example, you will find pin decorations located around the pool deck. In addition, the restroom building is designed to look like where you store your shoes at the bowling alley.
But my favorite part about this pool is if you look at it from above, it’s shaped like a bowling pin!
Even lines run down the pool deck to mimic the bowling alley. (I’m sorry that my finger is partially in the photo!)
Because of its smaller size and location at the far end of Pop Century Resort, the Bowling Pool is typically much quieter and less crowded than the Hippy Dippy Pool. But on hot days, you can still expect to find a crowd here. There are plenty of lounge chairs and shaded areas for you to sit and relax, but these will get claimed quickly on busy days.
