I’ve definitely been guilty of trying to convince my wife that maybe we should skip the parks for a few days and just hang around the pool, hoping to save some money (I never win this argument). 🙂

We will explore many options, including authorized resellers, along with some lesser-known strategies. I made sure only to include reputable options you can trust, so don’t expect me to recommend Craigslist or eBay to find Disney World tickets!
Lastly, before you begin, let me temper your expectations slightly. You are not going to receive massive discounts from any of the options below, such as 20% off or more, as this just isn’t possible. But as you will see, saving a bit of money without putting in much extra effort is definitely possible.

Get Away Today is one of the few places that is actually authorized to sell discount tickets to Walt Disney World!
I know that having trust in the place you are getting tickets is incredibly important, which is one big reason Get Away Today is highly recommended. They have been around for over 30 years and help thousands of people every year save money on Disney World admission.
How much money can you save on Disney World tickets with Get Away Today?
Well, it depends on many factors, including the length of your stay, how many people are in your party, and the type of ticket you want to purchase.
But for fun, I compared the prices of buying tickets to Disney World with Get Away Today and if you bought them directly from Disney. Here are the assumptions I used:
- 7-day Walt Disney World Park Hopper Plus tickets between June 16-23.
- A family of four, including two children between the ages of 3-9.
As you can see, buying the tickets with Get Away Today instead of directly with Disney saves you $155!
And just so you know, tax and any other fees are already included in the price with Get Away Today, so in the above example, $2,914 is exactly what you would pay.

- Your Disney World tickets can be returned up to ONE YEAR after you bought them. This is a huge benefit, as even Disney doesn’t offer refunds if you purchase directly from them.
- And just so you know, Undercover Tourist refunds 95% of your purchase amount. The other 5% goes toward handling and processing fees.
Below you will see my comparison of buying tickets to Disney World with Undercover Tourist versus if you got them directly from Disney. I used the following assumptions:
- 7-day Walt Disney World Park Hopper Plus tickets between June 16-23.

While researching the cheapest Disney World tickets for this article, OrlandoVacation.com came in as the least expensive by a few dollars! As you can see below, a 7-day Park Hopper Plus for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) came in at $2,912.82, which is $156.22 less than the price on Disney’s site.
The only negative that I have found with OrlandoVacation.com is there is no refund policy when you purchase Disney World tickets, which is a great benefit you receive with Undercover Tourist.
Lastly, Disney World tickets that are purchased with OrlandoVacation.com have all the same benefits as those bought directly through Disney. Once you buy the tickets, just log in to MyDisneyExperience.com and enter the numbers off your tickets to make reservations, etc.
#4. Buy discounted tickets directly from Disney World
While it’s usually cheaper to buy Disney World tickets elsewhere, sometimes the BEST place to purchase is right on Disney’s website.
Disney has a page titled “Special Offers, Deals, and Discounts.” There are always a few specials going on that might fit what you are looking for perfectly! For example, on the particular date of this writing, there were two offers:
- 4-day, 4-park tickets that cost only $99 per day.
- Savings of up to 25% on rooms at certain Disney Resort Hotels.

For both of these deals, you had to travel during a specific date range and avoid a few blackout dates. So, this could be a great option as long as you get lucky and the current specials fit exactly what your family needs!
Lastly, if you are only visiting Disney World for one day, you shouldn’t expect much of a discount no matter where you search. So if it makes you more comfortable, you might as well just buy 1-day tickets directly from Disney’s website.
#5. Discounted tickets for members of the military!
As a thank you, Disney World offers tickets at a reduced price to people that served in the United States military.
To see how much you can save, you will need to head to this page on Disney’s website. As you will see, the Disney Military Salute Ticket offers 4 or 5 day passes, along with different Park Hopper options.
To purchase these tickets, you need to head to your nearest US military sales outlet. I found this PDF on Disney’s site that lists locations by state.
#6. Become an Annual Passholder!
If you plan on visiting Disney World multiple times over the next 365 days, purchasing an Annual Pass may make sense. In exchange for an annual fee, Passholders can visit the parks as often as they want throughout the year!
Without getting into complicated math, an Annual Pass typically pays for itself if you plan on visiting the parks over 15 times in the next 365 days.

In addition to free Disney World tickets, here are a few other benefits of purchasing an Annual Pass:
- FREE parking at any of the theme parks! (Standard parking only)
- Discounts on certain restaurants, activities, spa treatments, and merchandise.

#7. Florida residents can save BIG on WDW tickets
If you live in Florida, make sure you take advantage to save money on your Disney World tickets!
To see the current specials, you will want to head HERE to learn more. The deals for tickets are typically pretty great and much cheaper than anywhere else. The only negative is there are some blackout dates.
On the day of this writing, you could find the below deal for Florida residents.
Please be aware that you have to verify Florida residency to qualify for these discounted Disney World tickets. But to help save time, you can do this online before arriving at the parks.
Lastly, Florida residents also get big savings on Disney World Annual Passes. Disney even offers some Passholder options that are only available for people that live in Florida. For example, only Florida residents can buy the Dixie Pixie Dust Pass that lets you visit the parks as much as you want, but just on weekdays.
#8. Government, Membership, or Corporate Discounts
One last place you should check for discounted Disney World tickets is with your employer or any groups you might be associated with.
For example, I used to work for State Farm Insurance. There was an entire list of businesses where we received extra savings, with tickets to Disney World being one of those places!
Regarding memberships, two popular options include buying tickets with AAA or Sam’s Club.
That said, I have found that the prices with any of the options above are very close to the discount tickets you can buy through Get Away Today, Undercover Tourist, or OrlandoVacation.com. So if you want to save time, I think it’s easier to buy your tickets through one of these options.

As you shop for discounted Disney World tickets, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Make sure you compare the prices of tickets in a few different places. You never know who will have the best rates for the days you plan on visiting.
- When you compare the prices of Disney World tickets, it’s important that you use the EXACT same dates. This is because ticket prices vary by start date, depending on the time of the year and how busy the parks are expected to be.
- It’s also important to make sure you are selecting the same TYPE of ticket as you compare prices. For example, it’s very easy to select a Standard Theme Park Ticket in one place and then click on a Park Hopper option elsewhere, which makes it impossible to know which tickets are cheaper!
- Children under the age of 3 are FREE, but make sure to think about the age your kids will be when you visit. Children between the ages of 3 to 9 qualify for a child ticket, while anyone 10 or older requires an adult ticket.
- If you are only visiting Disney World for one day, don’t expect much of a discount. You can rarely find savings on 1-day passes, so I wouldn’t waste too much time searching.
- Typically, the more days you plan to visit Disney World, the bigger the discounts you can expect.
- It is almost always best to buy tickets as far in advance as possible. By doing this, you are locking in the current prices and avoiding future increases. Trust me, Disney World rarely decreases ticket prices, so you shouldn’t wait around hoping for a better deal. And it’s always going to be the most expensive to buy tickets at the gate on the day of your visit.
