7 Best Places to Rent SCOOTERS at Disney World (2024)

If you have a mobility issue, bringing an electric scooter to Disney World is essential.

The parks are enormous, and walking thousands of steps a day can result in unwanted pain. In many cases, walking this much is physically impossible or potentially dangerous.

Luckily, there are many options for renting a scooter while visiting Disney World. Below, I have listed the best and most used companies, highlighting the differences and things to consider.

Here is a quick summary of the BEST Disney World scooter companies, depending on your situation:

  • Best Overall: Buena Vista Rentals – A great combination of pick-up and delivery options, customer service, scooter options, and price.
  • Cheapest: Kingdom Strollers – But they only offer one type of scooter, which is a smaller, portable scooter that holds up to 225 lbs. If this option fits your needs, then you will LOVE the price. 🙂
  • Best for Single Day rentals: Disney World – Rent your scooter directly from Disney at the front of the theme park.

7 Best Places to Rent Scooters at Disney World:

*Please note that when it comes to scooters, you may also hear the term “ECV.” ECV stands for Electric Conveyance Vehicle. An ECV and scooter refer to the same thing, which is a 3 or 4-wheeled electric vehicle to help with mobility issues. The terms are used interchangeably below.*

Buena Vista Rentals has served Disney World guests since 1995, providing high-quality scooters and stellar customer service. They offer a range of basic to deluxe ECV options.

Delivery and Pick-Up Options:

  • Disney Resorts: Buena Vista Scooters delivers to all hotels at Disney World for FREE. Upon rental, you can select a handful of delivery times for your resort. You must meet with the driver for delivery and pick-up.
  • Non-Disney Resort: If your hotel is near Disney, they should deliver it there for free. Depending on the distance, they may charge a small delivery fee.
  • Pick-Up: They are one of the only companies that rent scooters that you can pick up from their warehouse yourself. By doing so, you save 10%! Their address is 7330 Exchange Dr, Unit 80, Orlando, FL 32809, which is roughly a 15-minute drive from Disney World.

If you need delivery to a vacation home or private residence, Please contact Buena Vista Rentals directly to inquire about options.

ECV Types Available & Pricing:

Buena Vista Scooter Rentals offers multiple ECV models, depending on what you need. Please pay attention to each scooter’s unique features, and pick one that meets your needs for carrying capacity, range, or the ability to disassemble the scooter to fit in a car.

I love how they have Star Wars-themed scooters, perfect for visiting Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios.

Scooter prices vary but range from $35 to $55 a day. The price per day goes down drastically the longer you rent.

  • Standard & Portable Scooter: $35 per day
  • Maxima Scooter: $45 per day
  • Deluxe Scooter: $55 per day

Please go to their website to compare the various models!

There is a two-day minimum for all ECV rentals. Additionally, you will need to pay a damage waiver ($20) and sales tax. You can buy additional accessories.

Customer Service & Cancellations:

Their customer service call center is available daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (407-331-9147). Like similar companies, they have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you are within 48 hours of your rental, a one or two-day rental fee will be charged.

Advantages & Disadvantages:

Buena Vista Scooter Rentals has an outstanding reputation for renting scooters to Disney World visitors. They have been around for a long time and consistently receive excellent customer reviews.

#2. Kingdom Strollers

Don’t let the name fool you, as they also rent scooters. 🙂 They are a small, family-owned business focusing on making your vacation easy and less stressful.

They are known for their positive customer service along with how easy they make the delivery of your scooter. In addition to scooters, they also rent strollers, cribs, bed sets, and more. Our family has rented strollers many times from Kingdom Strollers, and we have always had a pleasant, hassle-free experience.

Scooter Types Available & Pricing:

Kingdom Strollers only has one type of scooter available to rent – the Go-Go Elite Traveller Plus.

GET A QUOTE: Use this link to see how much renting this scooter costs!

The scooter features a front-mounted basket and a 12-mile charge range. Since it’s easy to disassemble, it fits into vehicles, which is a HUGE plus. It can hold passengers that weigh up to 225 lbs.

This option would be perfect if you are looking for a smaller, PORTABLE scooter while visiting Disney World!

And based on my research, this scooter is the LEAST EXPENSIVE option. 🙂

Delivery Options:

Kingdom Strollers delivers FREE to most Orlando area hotels, resorts, and vacation homes. The exact process for delivery is different depending on where you are staying:

  • Disney World Resort: If you are staying at an official Disney resort, you MUST meet with the driver after you arrive for all deliveries and pickups. You will select the designated time and place when you book your reservation, but this can be changed if your plans change.
  • Non-Disney Resort: The good news is that if you stay off Disney property, you do not need to be present for delivery or pickup! Your scooter will be available at the front desk of your hotel upon arrival.
  • Vacation Home/Rental: Delivery to a private residence is no problem, but it needs to be within 8-10 miles of Disney World. It’s possible to have it delivered if you are farther away, but there will be an extra fee.

#3. ScooterBug

scooter rentals disney world

ScooterBug is the official featured provider for Disney World scooter rentals. This distinction gives them a HUGE advantage over other companies regarding scooter delivery at Disney resorts.

If you stay at a Disney World Resort, ScooterBug is the ONLY scooter rental company where you do NOT have to MEET the driver at delivery or pick up.

The company will deliver the scooter directly to the front desk of your resort, and you can pick it up at your convenience. Then, at the end of your trip, you just drop it back off at the front desk. 🙂

In addition to Disney World resorts, Scooterbug also delivers scooters to the front desk of over 300 other hotels around Orlando.

ECV Types Available & Pricing:

ScooterBug has four types of scooters available for rent: Resort Lite, Resort, Resort Plus, and Resort Max.

Each option varies in features and dimensions, depending on your specific needs. Here are the specifications that are most important to consider:

  • Carrying capacity: The models range between 300 and 450 lbs.
  • Does the scooter need the ability to fold into a vehicle? The Resort Lite ECV can do this!
  • How long can the scooter go on a charge? Most of the models average between 4 – 6 hours.

Check out the ScooterBug website to compare the differences and see the other features of each model. Many accessories are available to rent along with the scooter, including cane and crutch holders, oxygen tank holders, rain covers, sun shades, rear baskets, etc.

Pricing varies depending on the scooter chosen and number of nights rented:

  • Resort Lite: $90 (1 Day) – $400 (15 Days)
  • Resort: $61 (1 Day) – $376 (15 Days)
  • Resort Plus & Resort Max: $75 (1 Day) – $390 (15 Days)

Please check their site for the most up-to-date rates.

Customer Service & Cancellations:

For cancellations prior to 48 hours of your rental, call their customer service team (800-726-8284) for a full refund. A fee may apply if you cancel within the 48-hour window of pickup time.

Additionally, there are lost key replacement ($25) and charger replacement ($45) fees. You can modify your rental for upgrades or extensions by emailing support@scooterbug.com.

Advantages & Disadvantages:

Being the featured provider through Disney World, they are a trusted source for scooter rentals. Pricing is slightly higher than other companies in the area, but they have many scooter options to choose from, and you do not need to be present at delivery or pick-up (which is a BIG perk).

#4. Gold Mobility Scooters

scooter rentals disney world

Pick-up and Delivery Options:

Gold Mobility Scooters offers the largest delivery area among the scooter rental companies on this list. They offer free ECV delivery to Disney World Resorts, Orlando, Kissimmee, Celebration, Davenport, convention centers, and vacation homes. Upon checkout, there is a dropdown list of all the places they deliver.

Remember that if you are staying at a Disney World resort, you must meet the delivery driver when they drop off and pick up the scooter. Most non-Disney resorts don’t require you to be present for delivery, but confirm this with Gold Mobility Scooters upon reservation.

You can also pick up your ECV at their office between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., located at 5720 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, Kissimmee, FL 34746.

If you are staying in a rental home or private residence, the company requests you call them to make sure they deliver to that location. Or else you will need to pick up the scooter in person.

ECV Types Available & Pricing:

Gold Mobility Scooters has two models available – Victory 10 and Go-Go.

  • Go-Go scooters have a 250 lbs. max and 4 to 5-hour run time
  • The premium Victory models have a 350 lbs. weight capacity and 8-hour run time.

Their website has plenty of images and videos detailing the scooter’s specifics, so you can choose your desired rental. In general, Victory 10 scooters are ideal for long days in the parks, while Go-Go scooters might need a midday charge. They even had this helpful video posted:

GMS offers more FREE accessories than any other Disney scooter rental company.

Scooter rentals include insurance, extended-range batteries, a cup holder, a phone holder, a USB port, (2) rain ponchos, and LED safety lighting. On certain models, a captain’s chair and cooling fan are available.

Daily pricing was not available; however, they do offer discounts for weekly rentals. All rentals were $229.99 for the week.

Customer Service & Cancellations:

If you have questions or want to rent over the phone, call or text their service line at 407-414-0287. You can request a full refund within 24 hours of your delivery date.

Advantages & Disadvantages:

Gold Mobility Scooters is one of the few rental companies offering 24-hour cancellations. They also include accessories for FREE, like USB ports and cup holders that normally are an additional charge. Their delivery seems flexible, and the option for in-person warehouse pick-up is nice for those with additional questions.

#5. Walker Mobility Scooter Rentals

scooter rentals disney world

Walker Mobility is one of the BEST places to rent a scooter when visiting Disney World.

They have served the Central Florida area for over 25 years. Interestingly, it is one of the few scooter rental companies that is a featured provider for Disney Cruise Line. This option is perfect for those taking long vacations who want to visit both Disney World and embark on a Disney cruise leaving from Port Canaveral.

Pick-up and Delivery Options:

Walker Mobility is one of the least restrictive scooter rental companies in the Orlando area. They claim to deliver to every hotel, vacation village, private residence, and vacation home in the area, in addition to all Port Canaveral cruise lines.

Regardless of where it’s delivered, you will meet the delivery driver at pick-up, and they will spend time making sure you know how to operate the scooter.

ECV Types Available & Pricing:

Walker Mobility has two proprietary ECVs – the Double Whammy Deluxe and the Triple Lindy Comfort models. While similar in features, the weight capacity varies. The Double Whammy Deluxe supports up to 300 lbs. while the Triple Lindy Comfort supports up to 450 lbs.

The scooters are collapsable and can easily fit into a car trunk. Included for FREE are a removable phone holder, Yeti-style cup holders, and a removable front basket. Both models offer a long battery life, high-back captain’s chairs, anti-tip stabilization bars, and 19″ deep seats.

Walker Mobility has pricing available by the day and weekend-only rates. In general, pricing is more affordable with more days rented and appears to be cheaper than competitors. A 10% discount is available for military and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members.

Customer Service & Cancellations:

There is no penalty for cancellations within 48 hours of your rental date. Rental cancellations within 24 hours of your delivery time are subject to a $35 fee.

For questions, contact the service line (407-518-6000) Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can also email them at team@walkermobility.com.

Advantages & Disadvantages:

Walker Mobility is a great option for the price and flexible delivery options. They claim to have less than a 1% replacement rate and have helpful videos should you need to troubleshoot.

#6. Scootaround

Pick-up and Delivery Options:

Scootaround appears to have straightforward pickup and delivery items, and deliveries are free for rentals within 25 miles of Disney World with a minimum 2-day rental.

You can also pick up your rental directly from their warehouse; in return, you’ll receive a 10% discount.

ECV Types Available & Pricing:

Scootaround features four models in their line. If you want to see a complete breakdown of the differences and specifications of each scooter, click here. The biggest differences you will find include:

  • Maximum carrying capacity and overall size of the scooter.
  • The ability to collapse or easily disassemble to be transported.

Pricing varies by the model chosen and the number of days rented, and you can receive a custom quote online.

Cancellation Policy:

Scootaround has an incredibly restrictive cancellation policy. I will do my best to summarize below.

  • If you give seven or more days’ notice, they charge a $50 cancellation fee on ECVs. Also, you don’t get a refund for the remainder but instead get credit on a future rental.
  • If less than seven days’ notice is given, they charge a $100 cancellation fee! The remainder can be used as a credit on a future rental.
  • Cancellations that occur on or after the delivery date are completely non-refundable. No credit will be issued.

As you can see, if you book with them, make sure your plans don’t change!

Advantages & Disadvantages

Regarding free delivery, Scootaround has the biggest delivery range of its competitors. Also, looking at their pricing, they seem to be one of the least expensive scooter rentals for Disney World.

But their cancellation policy is by far the WORST of any company on this list!

#7. Rent directly from Disney World!

Lastly, you can rent a scooter from Disney World theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. At the front of each park, it should be easy to find the ECV rental location.

The biggest advantage to renting directly from Disney is the convenience. You don’t have to worry about getting a scooter delivered or transporting it anywhere.

In my opinion, if you only need a scooter for ONE day, then renting directly from Disney World is the BEST option.

However, there are some negatives:

  • The cost is by far the biggest disadvantage. It is $65 per day. And there are no “Length of Stay” discounts available. It will be $65/day, no matter how long you rent the ECV.
  • You can’t remove the scooter from the location where it was rented. That means you can’t take it back with you to your resort. If you visit more than one park in a day, you just show them your rental receipt to get another scooter at the new park.
  • The Disney World scooters are on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not accepted, so scooters could be unavailable on busy days. It’s advised to get there EARLY to ensure you get one.

For those with mobility issues extending beyond the theme parks or Disney Springs, renting a scooter from a third-party company is the BEST option.
