What are the transportation options from Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort?
One issue that can be intimidating for many guests staying at Coronado Springs is figuring out how to travel from the resort to the theme parks, shopping areas, and other Orlando area activities.
I know when our family travels to Disney, knowing our transportation options BEFORE arriving is incredibly comforting.
In this post, you will learn about all the modes of transportation available at Coronado Springs so you know EXACTLY how to get where you need to go.
5 Transportation Options at Coronado Springs:
Option #1: Take the FREE Disney bus!
Did you know Disney World provides FREE bus transportation from Coronado Springs to the parks and Disney Springs? Being able to jump on and off these buses is one of the best benefits of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort.
It’s important to note that the buses are the ONLY form of transportation that Disney provides at Coronado Springs.
You won’t find the monorail, Disney Skyliner, or boat transportation here. With that said, the buses are one of the most convenient free options!
Where are the bus stops located at Coronado Springs?
Because it’s such a large resort, there are four bus stops here. This means that no matter which section you stay in, you can easily get a bus to your destination. Take a look below, and you’ll be able to find where the best bus stop is for you!
Where can I take a bus from Coronado Springs?
The short answer to this question is anywhere in Disney World! You will see a screen that outlines which parks and destinations are open, as well as when the next bus will arrive.
Once you arrive at the bus stop at Coronado Springs, you must pay attention to the signs to ensure you get on the correct bus! Everything is clearly marked, so this should not be a problem.
The buses at Coronado Springs provide direct service to:
- Magic Kingdom: The bus ride is approximately 10 minutes. It is 2.7 miles (4.3 km) away.
- Epcot: It’s about 10 minutes by bus. The distance is 2.5 miles (4 km).
- Hollywood Studios: It takes about 10 minutes by bus and is 3.6 miles (5.8 km) away.
- Animal Kingdom: The bus ride is typically 5-10 minutes. It is 1.8 miles (2.9 km) away.

In addition, you can get to these locations from Coronado Springs with ONE bus transfer.
- Blizzard Beach: Take the bus from Coronado Springs to Animal Kingdom. Then, get off the bus and find the shuttle going directly to Blizzard Beach.
- Typhoon Lagoon: Take the bus from Coronado Springs to Disney Springs. Then, get off the bus and find the bus going directly to Typhoon Lagoon.
- ANY of the other Disney World Resorts: Do you have dinner reservations at the Wilderness Lodge? Or do you want to check out the Polynesian Resort for your next vacation? Luckily, it’s EASY to get to any of the other 20+ Disney hotels from Coronado Springs using the free Disney bus transportation. All you need to do is take the bus to Disney Springs or the closest theme park. Then get off the shuttle and find the bus that goes directly to the resort you want to visit!
- ESPN Wide World of Sports: Check with the front desk regarding bus transportation here. The schedule and operating hours change depending on what events are being held. If there are no direct buses, you must take a bus to one of the parks and transfer to ESPN Wide World of Sports.
Option #2: Take an Uber/Lyft from Coronado Springs
If you don’t want to wait for the bus, using a rideshare service (Uber or Lyft) from Coronado Springs Resort is easy. Just open the app and select your destination, and you should be matched with a driver within seconds.
Because Coronado Springs is such a big resort, it’s important that you mark your location CORRECTLY in the app to avoid any delays. There is plenty of space outside each of the resort sections for your driver to pick you up.
Below is a picture of the large parking lot outside the Cabanas buildings.
Taking a rideshare like Uber is a great way to visit places OUTSIDE Walt Disney World Resort.
We have often stayed at a Disney resort but wanted to visit somewhere else for a day or evening. To help save money, we rarely rent a car, so we have to find alternate transportation.
Luckily, rideshares can easily take you from Coronado Springs to the following locations:
- Sea World
- Downtown Orlando
- Universal Theme Parks (one of my favorite places to go!)
- Restaurants, parks, etc. Honestly, you can go anywhere you want!
TWO rideshare companies operate in Disney World – Uber and Lyft. Between them both, there are a lot of drivers cruising around. Almost every time I’ve used a rideshare from the resorts, I’ve had to wait less than 10 minutes to get picked up.
The one-way fare around Walt Disney World averages about $15. In my opinion, if you have limited time to travel somewhere, it is money well spent!
Option #3: Drive yourself!
Getting in your car and driving yourself is an often overlooked way to travel when you stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs. It’s probably the fastest option since you don’t have to wait for someone to pick you up. 🙂
You can get pretty much anywhere around Disney World within 20 minutes! Plus, you have complete freedom to visit the other attractions around Orlando, like Sea World, Legoland, the beach, or downtown Orlando.
And as long as you are staying at Coronado Springs, parking is FREE! Unfortunately, many guests don’t realize (or forget) that if you stay at a Disney World Resort, parking does not cost anything.
Getting FREE parking at the theme parks is an incredible benefit of staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, as parking costs a minimum of $25 per day at each park.
Option #4: Ride in a MINNIE VAN from Coronado Springs
One fun thing about using the rideshare service Lyft is that they have partnered with Disney World to provide MINNIE VANS, which are Minnie Mouse-themed mini-vans!
This option will be more expensive than a regular Lyft vehicle. But using a Minnie Van has some incredible benefits compared to other rideshares and taxis:
- They are driven by DISNEY CAST MEMBERS. I know many people like this fact because the drivers are employees of Disney, which provides additional peace of mind.
- They can fit up to SIX people.
- The fare includes up to two car seats, which your driver will install for you.
- These vans can fit scooters and wheelchairs, but please pre-arrange your ride if you need this service.
How do I get a Minnie Van to pick me up at Coronado Springs?
To schedule a Minnie Van, choose your destination using the Lyft app. Then, order the Minnie Van to come and pick you up. Although it probably doesn’t make sense for each trip, it’s perfect in those situations where time or energy are in short supply.
Option #5: Take a TAXI from Coronado Springs
I know some people don’t like using Uber or Lyft because they don’t know about the person driving or don’t feel comfortable using the app. If this describes you, calling a traditional taxi company for a ride is easy.
Taking a taxi has many of the same benefits as rideshares, such as not waiting for a bus. But of course, you must pay for the taxi ride, where the Disney buses are free.
If you want to take a taxi from Coronado Springs Resort, I recommend calling Mears Taxi, a well-known and trusted company in the Orlando area. You can even schedule and book your ride online.
Can I walk to any parks from Disney’s Coronado Springs?
The short answer to this question is NO. First, the distance between the resort and the theme parks is too far to comfortably walk. And second, there are no walking paths that connect them. You must take the bus, a taxi/rideshare, or drive yourself to get there!
Is the Disney Skyliner available at Coronado Springs?
The short answer to this question is NO. There is no boarding station for the Disney Skyliner at Coronado Springs.
The Skyliner only goes to two parks, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. If you want a Skyliner boarding station at your hotel, stay at the Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation, or Pop Century.
Can I take the Disney boats from Coronado Springs to any parks?
No, there is no boat transportation available at Coronado Springs.
Can I take the Disney Monorail from Coronado Springs?
No, the monorail does not have a boarding station at Coronado Springs. If you want access to this transportation option from your hotel, you must stay at the Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, or Polynesian Village Resort.
