Whenever we visit Disney World, we ALWAYS make sure we have at least one pool day. Instead of visiting the theme parks, our family plays and relaxes by the pool.
Coronado Springs Resort has FOUR incredible pools you can enjoy.
Below, you will learn about them all and the other fun activities and things to enjoy around the pools.

The 4 Pools at Coronado Springs Resort:
Pool #1: Lost City of Cibola Pool
The Lost City of Cibola Pool is the largest pool at Coronado Springs Resort!
The pool is themed after Mayan ruins. The centerpiece of this pool area is a massive 50-foot (15.2 m) pyramid with water running down its steps.
The Lost City of Cibola Pool is EASY to find! It is part of a huge recreational area called the Dig Site, located near the center of Coronado Springs Resort. The fastest way to get there from the main lobby and Gran Destino Tower areas is to take the walking path across the lake from behind Gran Destino Tower.
This pool has a thrilling 123 ft (37.5 m) long water slide known as the Jaguar Slide.
This slide takes its riders through the jungle area behind the pyramid before depositing them in the pool.
There are many lounge chairs surrounding the pool for relaxation. Just be advised that on HOT days, the lounge chairs can get claimed quickly, so you may want to head to the pool early if this is important to you.
The Lost City of Cibola Pool is where you’ll find the largest hot tub on Walt Disney World Resort property!
This enormous hot tub accommodates up to 22 people.
The hot tub is in a separate fenced-in area with its own set of lounge chairs.
If you have little kids, you will be happy to learn there is a small kiddie pool near the Lost City of Cibola Pool inside another separately fenced area!
The kiddie pool is a shallow pool surrounded by its own lounge chairs.
If you get hungry or thirsty while at the Lost City of Cibola Pool, there is an outside quick service spot nearby called Siestas Cantina. It’s easy to find as it’s located next to the pool.
- Siestas Cantina offers a larger menu than many Disney resort pool bars, with appetizers like nachos, healthy options like salads, and entrees like burgers and tacos.
- There are a couple of kids’ meal options available.
- You can find an array of beverages here, including adult alcoholic drinks, to enjoy while sitting at the pool.

If you are looking for other nearby dining options around dinner time, Three Bridges Bar & Grill is just a short walk away from the Lost City of Cibola Pool. It can be found by walking across the bridge by the volleyball court. So, if you dry off and put on shoes and a shirt, you can head here to find even more dining options. But if you’re at the pool, it would be easiest to mobile order from outside and then run over to grab your food when it’s ready.
Since the Lost City of Cibola Pool is the biggest pool at Coronado Springs Resort, has the most features, and is centrally located, it is by far the busiest pool.

Pool #2: Casitas Village Pool
The smaller Casitas Village Pool is located in the Casitas Village section of Coronado Springs Resort, west of the main lobby area.
The Casitas Village Pool is one of three leisure pools at this resort. The leisure pools are also known as quiet pools. None of these pools are themed, and they don’t have features like a water slide or a hot tub.
Surrounding the pool are lounge chairs, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Casitas Village Pool is much smaller than the Lost City of Cibola Pool. As a result, it is usually quieter and less crowded. But on hot Florida days, this pool can still get pretty busy.
Pool #3: Ranchos Village Pool
The Ranchos Village Pool is located in the Ranchos Village section of Coronado Springs Resort, north of the Lost City of Cibola Pool.
The Ranchos Village Pool is another one of the three leisure pools at this resort. Again, leisure pools are also known as quiet pools. None of these pools are themed, and they don’t have features like a water slide or a hot tub.
This pool is a short walk from the Lost City of Cibola Pool. So, if that pool is busy, it’s a great option for a quieter experience nearby.
Surrounding the pool are lounge chairs, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Ranchos Village Pool is much smaller than the Lost City of Cibola Pool. As a result, it is usually quieter and less crowded. But on hot Florida days, this pool can still get pretty busy.

When do the pools at Coronado Springs Resort open?
The Lost City of Cibola Pool is normally open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Casitas Village Pool, Ranchos Village Pool, and Cabanas Village Pool are all normally open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. They tend to be open longer because these pools have NO lifeguards on duty.
But these hours tend to change depending on the time of year you visit. Just ask the front desk when you arrive to see the current schedule. The operating hours should also be posted on a sign near the pool entrance.
Can non-guests use the pools at Coronado Springs Resort?
No, only guests staying at Coronado Springs Resort can access the pool area. The only exception is if you are staying at another Disney resort hotel and the pool there is undergoing refurbishment. In that case, Disney will arrange for you to have pool privileges at another nearby Disney Resort hotel.
Can you bring your food and drinks to the pools at Coronado Springs Resort?
Yes, you can bring your own food and drinks to the pool area at Coronado Springs Resort, which is a great choice if you don’t want to dine at the resort’s dining options while at the pool. There are a couple of restrictions to keep in mind:
- No glass is permitted anywhere in the pool area.
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the pool or on the pool wet deck.
Are there lifeguards at the pools at Coronado Springs Resort?
Lifeguards are on duty at the Lost City of Cibola Pool when the pool is open, which is typically from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
There are no lifeguards at the other three pools at this resort.
Lifeguard presence and pool hours are subject to change depending on the time of year, so check the schedule upon arrival.
Do the pools at Coronado Springs Resort have water slides, lazy rivers, or hot tubs?
Coronado Springs Resort is a Disney Moderate Resort. The Lost City of Cibola Pool has a 123 ft (37.5 m) long water slide and the largest hot tub on Walt Disney World Resort property, accommodating up to 22 people!
None of the three leisure pools have water slides or hot tubs, and none of the Coronado Springs Resort pools have a lazy river.
Are there any height restrictions for the water slide?
The water slide does not have height restrictions, but your children must be able to swim and go down the slide alone. They are NOT allowed to sit on your lap.
Just ensure you follow the rules posted at the slide’s entrance, including going down feet-first after the slide’s green light is turned on.
Are the pools heated at Coronado Springs Resort?
Yes! All four pools at Coronado Springs Resort are heated to 82°F (27.8°C) year-round!
Is there a pool in Coronado Springs Resort’s Gran Destino Tower section?
There is no pool at the Gran Destino Tower; however, the Lost City of Cibola Pool and the Cabanas Village Pool are just a short walk away.
Can guests at Coronado Springs Resort use any of the four pools?
Yes! No matter which section of Coronado Springs Resort you stay at, you can use any of the four pools. So, for example, if you are in a room in the Ranchos Village section, you can swim in the Lost City of Cibola Pool. In fact, many families pool-hop throughout the day!
Where are the pools at Coronado Springs Resort located?
Here are the locations for each of the four pools:
- Lost City of Cibola Pool: Located near the center of the resort, situated on the north shore of Lago Dorado.
- Casitas Village Pool: Located in the Casitas Village section, west of the main lobby area.

How deep are the pools at Coronado Springs Resort?
The Lost City of Cibola Pool has a maximum depth of 4 feet 9 inches (1.4 m).
All three of the resort’s leisure pools have a maximum depth of 5 feet (1.5 m).
Are life jackets available at the Coronado Springs Resort pools?
Yes! Complimentary life jackets are available at all four of the pools.
Are there towels to use at the Coronado Springs Resort pools?
Yes, fresh and clean towels are available at all four pools. In addition, there are bins to throw your used towels into as you leave the pool area.
Are there activities near the pools at Coronado Springs Resort?
Yes, at the Lost City of Cibola Pool, during certain times of the day, Disney Cast Members come out to play games with the kids. Activities may include trivia, relays, and other pool games that are free! You will want to look for an activity schedule posted near the entrance of the pools.
The Lost City of Cibola Pool has other fun activities nearby, including game tables and a sand volleyball court.
Kids will enjoy the Iguana Arcade and the Explorer Playground, also located in the Lost City of Cibola Pool area known as the Dig Site.
Another fun activity near the Lost City of Cibola Pool is watching a movie under the stars.

Are there showers at Coronado Springs Resort pools?
There are showers located inside the bathrooms at the Lost City of Cibola Pool, the Ranchos Village Pool, and the Cabanas Village Pool. There are no showers at the Casitas Village Pool.
