Below, I’m providing a photo tour of one of the rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter.
We love staying at the French Quarter! It’s much smaller than many other Disney hotels and easy to walk around. This New Orleans-themed resort celebrates Mardi Gras daily, featuring Mickey beignets and a float-themed pool.
On a recent visit to Disney World, I took a bunch of pictures of the room I was staying in. I hope that after reading, you will know what to expect if you decide to stay here.
Disney’s French Quarter Room Tour:
First, when booking the room on Disney’s site, you will see multiple options. The difference comes down to the view that you want from your room. It’s a little more expensive as your view gets better. I chose the “River View” because I love being on the water!

Most of the rooms have two QUEEN beds and sleep a maximum of four people. There is also the option to get a room that has one king bed and sleeps a maximum of two.
All of the rooms at the French Quarter are 314 square feet (29 sq m), regardless of which view you select.
Here is what it looks like as you first walk into the room. As expected, the housekeepers cleaned the room exceptionally well. One of the first things I noticed was the number of pillows, as each bed had four!
We all enjoyed the Mickey made out of towels sitting on the bed.
You will find a small table with two chairs as you look to the left after walking in. Another Mickey shape was on the table made out of Mardis Gras necklaces! The television was fairly large. I appreciated the nice touch of having our family’s name on the screen!
The dresser had three large drawers to put away clothes and other things we brought. If you open the door on the right side of the dresser, there is a small refrigerator.
On top of the dresser, you will find an ice bucket and a coffee maker. There were cups, lids, creamer, sugar, tea, and, of course, coffee. It uses traditional coffee, not K-cups.
In keeping with the theme of the French Quarter, the rooms have an eclectic style with Antebellum accents found everywhere.
If you enjoy Disney decorations, you might be disappointed with the French Quarter rooms. Other than the Mickey-shaped towel and beads, there wasn’t anything Disney-themed in the room. The rooms stick closely to the New Orleans theme.
As we move to the back of the room, you will enter the bathroom area. Please notice there was no door that closed here, but instead, a curtain went across the entrance.
You will be happy to know that the “vanity area” includes TWO sinks. There is also a large closet area to hang clothes, including many hangars. On the top shelf, you can see a bag with extra pillows and blankets if needed.
Turning to the right, you will find the toilet and shower. As you can see, there is a bathtub, which is great news if your kids need to take a bath. There are lots of towels inside the restroom above the toilet.
And don’t worry, there is a REAL door that slides out and closes here.
When I walked out of my room at the French Quarter, I was right along the Sassagoula River and the boat transportation. These boats can take you back and forth to nearby Disney Springs.
Here is a list of all the amenities found inside the rooms at Disney’s French Quarter:
- Mini-refrigerator. It cools down to 41 degrees Fahrenheit (5 C).
- In-room safe
- Hairdryer. This area underneath the double sinks provides a lot of storage space.
- Iron and ironing board
- Telephone on the nightstand. You will also find outlets here and USB charging ports.
- Adjustable thermostat
- Internet – FREE Wi-Fi
- Hand soap and body lotion on the sink.
- Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower.
- Coffee machine – includes creamer, sugar, coffee, tea, and paper products. It uses traditional coffee, not K-cups.
- There are NO microwaves or toasters in the rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter. But if you head down to the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory (food court), you will find both of these for use.
Lastly, one neat benefit of staying at Port Orleans French Quarter is that you can visit the pools at the nearby Port Orleans Riverside Resort. Riverside is much bigger than the French Quarter and has SIX pools. Combined with the pool at French Quarter, that gives you SEVEN pools you can try.

How many people can a room at Port Orleans French Quarter accommodate?
Most rooms have two queen beds, meaning these rooms can sleep a maximum of 4 people. You can only have a 5th person if they are an infant.
Some of the rooms at the French Quarter have a king bed instead of two queens. These rooms only sleep a maximum of 2 people. There are no rooms with pull-out couches here.
