One of the BEST parts about staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is swimming in the pools!
Whenever we visit Disney World, we ALWAYS make sure we have at least one pool day. Instead of visiting the theme parks, our family plays and relaxes by the pool.
Wilderness Lodge has TWO incredible pools you can enjoy.
Below, you will learn about them, along with the other fun activities and things to enjoy around the pools.

The 2 Pools at Wilderness Lodge:
Pool #1: Copper Creek Springs Pool
The Copper Creek Springs Pool is the LARGEST pool at the Wilderness Lodge.
The pool is themed after the beautiful natural areas found in the American Northwest. The pool area is decorated with rocks and flowing water that is reminiscent of natural creeks and other bodies of water.
The Copper Creek Springs Pool is EASY to find! It is behind the main Wilderness Lodge building, near the Copper Creek Villas.
A popular feature at the Copper Creek Springs Pool is its 67-foot waterslide.
There are two whirlpool spas in this area – one hot spa and one cold.
Surrounding the pool are lots of lounge chairs for relaxation. Behind the lounge chairs are tables with umbrellas that offer places to eat while being in the shade. Just be advised that on HOT days, the chairs and tables can get claimed quickly, so you may want to head to the pool early if this is important to you.
If you have little kids, you will LOVE the kid’s splash area beside the Copper Creek Springs Pool.
It’s even located inside a separate fenced-in area with lounge chairs.
This splash area fits the natural theming of the Wilderness Lodge, with carved log décor and artwork featuring bears and fish on the sides of the structure. There are two gentle waterslides for the little ones and a large bucket over the area that periodically fills up and dumps water.
If you get hungry or thirsty while at the Copper Creek Springs Pool, there is a dining option called Geyser Point Bar & Grill. It’s easy to find as it’s located just around the corner from the pool.
- Here, you can find an array of burgers, sandwiches, and salads.
- The bar serves beverages, including adult alcoholic drinks, to enjoy while sitting at the pool.
- They also offer Kids’ Meals and Kids’ Disney Check Meals.

Another food area, Roaring Fork, is also close to the Copper Creek Springs Pool. It can be found just inside the Copper Creek Villas near Artist Point. So, if you dry off and put on shoes and a shirt, you can head here to find other dining options. But if you’re at the pool, it would be easiest to mobile order from outside and then run inside to grab your food when it’s ready.
Since the Copper Creek Springs Pool is the biggest pool at Wilderness Lodge and is centrally located, it is definitely the busiest of the two pools at the resort.

Pool #2: Boulder Ridge Cove Pool
You will find the smaller Boulder Ridge Cove Pool behind the Boulder Ridge Villas. The area is accented with boulder rocks around the perimeter, giving it a feeling of a natural quarry as well as a bit of seclusion from the rest of the resort.
The abandoned rock quarry theme also includes running water and an old quarry excavator prop.
The pool has a zero-entry section, making it easy to enter and exit. This area also has a hot tub to enjoy.
Surrounding the pool are lounge chairs and tables.
In addition, the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool area has cozy, shaded cabanas available at no cost. All seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Just like the Copper Creek Springs Pool, if you get hungry or thirsty while at the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool, Geyser Point Bar & Grill is just around the corner.
The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool is smaller than the Copper Creek Springs Pool. It also doesn’t have a kid’s splash area. As a result, it is usually quieter and less crowded, especially since it’s also located within the slightly less central Boulder Ridge Villas area of Wilderness Lodge. But on hot Florida days, this pool can still get pretty busy.

When do the pools at Wilderness Lodge open?
The Copper Creek Springs Pool is normally open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool is normally open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. It is open longer because there are NO lifeguards on duty here.
But these hours tend to change depending on the time of year you visit. Just ask the front desk when you arrive to see the current schedule. The operating hours should also be posted on a sign near the pool entrance.
Can non-guests use the pools at Wilderness Lodge?
No, only guests staying at Wilderness Lodge have access to the pool area. The only exception to this is if you are staying at another Disney resort hotel and the pool there is undergoing refurbishment. In that case, Disney will arrange for you to have pool privileges at another nearby Disney Resort hotel.
Can you bring your own food and drinks to the pools at Wilderness Lodge?
Yes, you can bring your own food and drinks to the pool area at Wilderness Lodge, which is a great choice if you don’t want to use the resort’s dining options while at the pool. There are a couple of restrictions to keep in mind:
- No glass is permitted anywhere in the pool area.
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the pool or on the pool wet deck.
Are there lifeguards at the pools at Wilderness Lodge?
Lifeguards are on duty at the Copper Creek Springs Pool when the pool is open, which is typically from 10 a.m to 10 p.m.
There are no lifeguards at the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool.
Lifeguard presence and pool hours are subject to change depending on the time of year, so check the schedule upon arrival.
Do the pools at Wilderness Lodge have water slides or hot tubs?
Since Wilderness Lodge is a “Disney Deluxe Resort,” you will find a 67-foot water slide at the Copper Creek Springs Pool, as well as a hot tub and a cool whirlpool spa.
The Boulder Ride Cove Pool does not have a water slide, but it does have a hot tub. Neither of the Wilderness Lodge pools has a lazy river.
Are there any height restrictions for the water slide?
There are no height restrictions for the water slide. But your child must be able to swim by themself and go down the slide alone. They are NOT allowed to sit on your lap. Just make sure you follow the rules posted at the slide’s entrance, which include going down feet-first after the slide’s green light is turned on.
Are the pools heated at Wilderness Lodge?
Yes! Both pools at Wilderness Lodge are heated to 82°F (27.8°C) year-round!
Is there a pool in the Cascade Cabins section at Wilderness Lodge?
No, while the lodging in the Cascade Cabins section has waterfront views, there is no pool in this area. Luckily, it’s a very short walk to either the Copper Creek Springs Pool or Boulder Ridge Cove Pool.
Can guests at Wilderness Lodge use either of the two pools?
Yes! No matter which section of Wilderness Lodge you stay at, you can use either of the two pools. So, for example, if you are in a room in the Copper Creek Villas section, you can swim in the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool. In fact, many families pool-hop throughout the day!
Where are the pools at Wilderness Lodge located?
Here are the locations for each of the two pools:
- Copper Creek Springs Pool: Located near the center of the Wilderness Lodge property, between the Copper Creek Villas and the waterfront.
- Boulder Ridge Cove Pool: Located a short walk away from the Copper Creek Springs Pool, between the Boulder Ridge Villas and Geyser Point Bar & Grill.

How deep are the pools at Wilderness Lodge?
The Copper Creek Pool ranges from 3-5 ft (1-1.5 m) deep.
The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool has zero-entry access, while other parts of the pool range from 3-5 ft (1-1.5 m) deep.
Are life jackets available at the Wilderness Lodge pools?
Yes! Complimentary life jackets are available at both pools.
Are there towels to use at the Wilderness Lodge pools?
Yes, fresh and clean towels are available at both pools: Copper Creek Springs Pool and Boulder Ridge Cove Pool. In addition, there are bins to throw your used towels into as you leave the pool area.
Are there activities near the pools at Wilderness Lodge?
Yes, at the Copper Creek Springs Pool, during certain times of the day, Disney Cast Members come out to play games with the kids. Activities may include trivia, relays, and other pool games that are free! You will want to look for an activity schedule posted near the entrance of the pools.
Another fun activity near the Copper Creek Springs Pool is watching a movie under the stars.
Every night, a different Disney movie plays. Many times, there is even popcorn available. Upon arrival at Wilderness Lodge, check out the movie schedule at the Front Desk so you don’t miss your favorite!
Are there showers at the Wilderness Lodge pools?
Yes, there are outdoor showers located at the Copper Creek Springs Pool and showers located inside the bathrooms at the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool.
