Here is a sentence that nobody has ever said:
“Wow, I can’t believe how CHEAP it is to buy Cedar Point tickets!”
As you plan your visit to Cedar Point, it can be shocking to discover how much tickets cost. Trust me, I’ve been there! I’ve been guilty of repeatedly looking up ticket prices over and over on the off-chance that they’ll miraculously be cheaper this time. 🙂
Below, you will learn 5 ways to purchase discounted Cedar Point tickets.
We will explore many options, including authorized resellers, along with some lesser-known strategies. I made sure only to include reputable options you can trust, so don’t expect me to recommend Craigslist or eBay to find Cedar Point tickets!
Lastly, before you begin, let me temper your expectations slightly. You will not receive massive discounts from any of the options below, such as 20% off or more, as this just isn’t possible. But as you will see, saving a bit of money without putting in much extra effort is possible.
Where to Buy Discounted Cedar Point Tickets:
Most often, the BEST place to purchase Cedar Point tickets is right on their website.
They have a page titled “Special Offers.” There, you can find extra savings on tickets, hotel options, and more. The online ticket price is much less than purchasing tickets at the gate!
Remember, their prices change yearly, and you won’t know the exact offers available until they open for the season. Check back frequently!
Discount Drug Mart sells Cedar Point tickets at a discount for people who are local to the area. You can find more information online or visit the service desk at your local store.
#3. Discounted tickets for members of the military!
As a thank you, Cedar Point offers tickets at a reduced price to people who served in the United States military.
To see how much you can save, you will need to head to this page on Cedar Point’s website. As you will notice, the Military Discount is available when tickets are on sale, starting a few weeks before the park opens for the season.
#4. Become an Annual Passholder!
Purchasing an Annual Pass may make sense if you plan on visiting Cedar Point multiple times. In exchange for an annual fee, Passholders can visit the park as often as they want throughout the year!
Without getting into complicated math, an Annual Pass typically pays for itself if you visit the parks twice or more in one season.
Head to this site to learn more and see how much it costs.
In addition to free Cedar Point tickets, here are a few other benefits of purchasing an Annual Pass:
- FREE general parking
- 10% discount on food, merchandise, and Cedar Fair hotels
- Discounted tickets for “bring a friend” days
#5. Government, Membership, or Corporate Discounts
One last place you should check for discounted Cedar Point tickets is with your employer or any groups you might be associated with.
For example, I used to work for State Farm Insurance. There was an entire list of businesses where we received extra savings, with tickets to Cedar Point being one of those places!
As you shop for discounted Cedar Point tickets, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Make sure you compare the prices of tickets in a few different places. You never know who will have the best rates for the days you plan on visiting.
- Children under 3 are FREE, but anyone three or older requires a regular admission ticket. One exception is the Pre-K Pass, a discounted ticket for kids ages 3-5 available to Gold or Prestige annual pass members.
- You will ALWAYS pay more for Cedar Point tickets at the gate than anywhere else. At the time of this writing, the gate ticket price was $85.00, while the online price was $49.99!
